Me and my brother Oddur were cutting turf one day. I used the scythe while Oddur picked up the pieces. He went about his work with such enthusiasm that at one point he grabbed the end of the turf piece as I was cutting it so that I cut off the tip of his middle finger. Oddur let go of the turf, shook his hand and let out a great yell. According to one account, the author of which shall remain nameless, I then said: “Oh, stop your whining, brother Oddur.”
